UUCSA met with members of the Minarah Chamber of Commerce South Africa on 21 November 2022 at Al Baraka Bank in Durban.
UUCSA hosts strategic stakeholder meeting in Cape Town
After successful meetings in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal, the United Ulama Council of South Africa in partnership with AMAL, Awqaf and SANZAF held an important stakeholders meeting of NPO's, Masjid Trustees, Ulama and professionals in the Western Cape. The meeting was held on 21 August 2022, at the Islamia College Auditorium in Cape Town. The programme was well attended with more than 45 organisation representatives drawn from a cross spectrum of the community in attendance.
Moulana Abdul Khaleq Allie, President of UUCSA and Deputy President of the MJC welcomed delegates and the various diplomats who were in attendance.
A presentation on an introduction to the role UUCSA plays in South Africa was conducted by Secretary General Maulana Yusuf Patel. Important interventions like the spate of kidnappings, marriage law representation and other important national and international matters were highlighted. CEO of Albaraka Bank, Shabbir Chohan also shared some advice, followed by an informative presentation by Attorney Ashraf Parker, a law expert who assists many organisations. The presenters highlighted the importance of compliance as the gathering was aimed at explaining and clarifying the Tax and Legal landscape in South Africa for Non-Profit Organizations (NPO’s).
During an address by the Ambassador of Kazakhstan, His Excellency Kanat Tumaysh highlighted the importance of working together as he praised Muslims in South Africa for their efforts of being noticed despite being a minority group and also praised UUCSA on serving the community.
The consulate of Turkey, His Excellency Sinan Yesildag shared a few words about UUCSA and invited all to join the panel discussion titled “The world is bigger than Five”. The presentations were well received by the organisations and several pertinent questions were fielded at the end of the session. The event closed with final remarks by Moulana Ebrahim Bham, Secretary General of Jamiatul Ulama South Africa and a vote of thanks by Moulana Sayed Imraan Ziyaee, an office bearer of Cape Town Ulama Board.

The United Ulama Council of South Africa in partnership with AMAL, Awqaf and SANZAF held an important stakeholders meeting of NPO's, Masjid Trustees, Ulama and professionals. The meeting was held on 29 May 2022, at the Hartley Primary School in Overport, Durban. The programme was well attended with some 40 organisation representatives drawn from a cross spectrum of the community in attendance.
A two day conference was hosted by Mimbar Al Aqsa in Istanbul on the 18th & 19th March 2022. The conference attracted 348 participants representing forty eight countries. Mimbar Al Aqsa is a non -profit organization that operates under the auspices of the International Union of Islamic Scholars.
